Our First Cake Deco Class
I’ve signed up for my sugarpaste and gumpaste cake deco class from Min’s Baking Project. I get my Sis to tagged along with me and signed up for it too, so that I have someone to accompany me. So this morning Sis came over to pick me up and here we go, heading for our first cake deco lesson. I have been planning to go for a cake deco class long time ago but I always have no time to go for it. Till one day, Dearie Suki told me, if I don’t have the determination to do it, I will forever telling myself I have no time to go for it. I told him a lot about all these classes and he always encourage me to go for it.
The lovely lady, Min teach us step by step how to prepare marzipan, fondant and gumpaste. Wow, I didn’t know that decorating a cake from fondant needs so much time to do it but both me and Sis did enjoyed the class a lot. It was just like playing with my kid’s play dough. Hahaha… but atleast now I know how to decorate and the technique used in doing all types of flowers and leaves. So no regret for going for this class. So for those who are interest do drop by Min’s blog and sign up for her class.
Some pictures taken during the class and me being so busy taking the photos.

Two aunties at work ! Hahaha…. one have a bit of knowledge in cake deco and the other one is a total dumb in cake decorating. Hahaha…. she is going to kill me.

Tadaa… not too bad ya my Sis. That’s her masterpiece. When I gets into her car today she told me she told her hubby that there will be an actual cake to take home after the class. I told her as far as I am concern I don’t think so we have any cos we are attending a cake deco class only. So it will a dummy cake. Wah, she really blur case ,la.

That’s my masterpiece. Trace out the fondant using the letters cutter and cut out the words ” TQ, Dearie Suki “… That’s for him for sponsoring me this class. Hahaha… when I reached home showing him the cake, he asked me ” So, now can take order d la ” and I answered , ” No la Dear, you know ah it is such a tedious job to decorate the cake. So many techniques and steps. I think needs a least 2 days la” . He must be thinking … I am wasting his money again. ***tongue out***
Both Le-Ann and Ee-Thern got excited when they saw me taking the cake back. Immediately the opened up the box and my son started to sing the Birthday song and wanted to cut the cake. I told them the cake is not mean to eat and it is just for demo. The small boy is just so cute. Perhaps his coming birthday I will decorate one birthday cake for him.

Too many colors, we do not like this kind of cakes, they look like marriage cakes. Even if they could be good. Man sees that they are too sweety.
Ya it is actually a marriage cakes and it is definately too sweet for us and it is usually just for display.
